Sergio Ramos is set to leave Sevilla at season's end.
And the former Real Madrid captain is also due to leave LaLiga.
The Athletic says Ramos is in advanced negotiations with San Diego FC - which will enter MLS for the 2025 season.
The parties have yet to agree, but Ramos is expected to be a designated player if he signs with San Diego.
The former Spain captain also has offers from other clubs around the world.
San Diego are already on the verge of signing Mexico winger Hirving Lozano, 28, from PSV Eindhoven.
